
Laurel Murphy is the KASC – Advisor Intern for International Student Conferences (ISC). She was first a delegate in the 14th Korea-America Student Conference (KASC) and was then elected as the American Vice Chair for the 15th KASC from 2021-22. In this role, she partnered with the 15th KASC Executive Committee to design a virtual conference with a theme of “Multifaceted Identities: Discovering Self Through Technology, Community, and Society to Create Sustainable Legacies.” Affirming the values of ISC, the 15th KASC aimed to foster friendships and strengthen relations between the Republic of Korea and the United States.
Laurel Murphy graduated with a B.A. in History and East Asian Studies from North Central College. She is currently a graduate student at Simmons University where she is pursuing a M.S. in Library and Information Science, with a concentration in Cultural Heritage Informatics and Information Technology.
As the KASC – Advisor Intern, Laurel is excited to continue developing her competency in international relations by supporting ISC and the 16th Korea-America Student Conference, which is currently accepting new Delegates for a Conference in Washington D.C. and Seoul this upcoming July, 2023.
