Japan-America Student Conference
From July 25th to August 19th 2012, the 64th Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) will bring together 72 Japanese and U.S. students of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. The two delegations will study, work, live, and travel together as a group, visiting four regions in the U.S.
Last year, the 63rd JASC took place in Japan, a short time after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake. This gave the delegation’s activities a special sense of purpose: to reaffirm both nations’ commitments to one another, particularly in times of hardship and need.
This year, the 64th JASC will explore the theme: Share in the Present, Connect for the Future: Strengthen Ties to Inspire Change. Student delegates will join Roundtables to discuss related topics, supported by student leaders of JASC, the 64th JASC Executive Committee. Roundtables are comprised of equal numbers of delegates from each country.
To be eligible, you must complete your application by March 1, 2012 as a full-time university student in the U.S. or Japan. For more information on academics, travel, or participation fees ($3,000-$3,500 per U.S. student), contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
