Laurel Murphy
Program Coordinator
Laurel Murphy is the Program Coordinator at International Student Conferences (ISC), where she serves as a steady guide and resource for the student leaders behind JASC, KASC, and ChASC. She works closely with each Executive Committee to help bring their vision to life — offering mentorship, logistical support, and a deep understanding of what it takes to plan a student-led international exchange.
Laurel also leads ISC’s annual U.S.–Japan–Korea Trilateral Forum, a winter convening in Washington, D.C. that brings together student leaders and policy experts to explore regional cooperation. From coordinating schedules and securing speakers to shaping the Forum’s structure and goals, she ensures each year’s gathering reflects the values of student diplomacy and meaningful dialogue.
Laurel’s relationship with ISC began as an American delegate to the 14th Korea-America Student Conference (KASC) in 2021. She went on to serve as Vice Chair for KASC 15 and Advisor for KASC 16, gaining hands-on experience in peer leadership, cultural exchange, and conference design.
She holds a B.A. in History and East Asian Studies from North Central College and an M.S. in Library and Information Studies from Simmons University, with a focus on Cultural Heritage Informatics. Her past work includes a knowledge management internship with the United Nations ESCAP in Bangkok, where she helped preserve and organize global development resources.
With a passion for mentorship, storytelling, and international education, Laurel helps ISC’s student leaders navigate the behind-the-scenes work of diplomacy — while keeping people and purpose at the center.
