Information for Applicants


KASC seeks a diverse delegation representing the academically accomplished student populations of the United States and South Korea. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students are strongly encouraged to apply. No previous experience with Korean Studies or the Korean language is required as the conference is conducted entirely in English. KASC does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, religion, marital status or sexual orientation.

Please note that applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified within two weeks of a completed application on whether they have been selected for an interview.

In order to apply for the conference students must complete the following steps:

      1. Click here to begin your application.

                    ***At this time, the KASC 14 application is available to prospective Korean                                 Delegates only.****

                    NOTE: KASC applicants should select the delegation that they are applying for:                         "American" or "Korean". Applicants for the Korean Delegation may complete their                         application in Korean.

      2. Fill out the application and be sure to save your progress and customized application
      link as you go.

      3. Upload the following required documents:

                a. Resume (Must be in English)
                    i. Western-style Resume Template
                b. A transcript (official or unofficial) from your current school

      4. (OPTIONAL) One letter of recommendation can be uploaded on your application form
      or can be emailed under the subject line “LastName, FirstName — DocumentEnclosed”
      to kasc@iscdc.org.

      5. (OPTIONAL) A personal statement can be uploaded on your application form or can
      be emailed under the subject line “LastName, FirstName — PersonalStatement” to
      kasc@iscdc.org.

      There is no outline for the statement, but candidates may wish to touch on academic
     and professional experiences, relevant skills, and life circumstances to demonstrate
     why they would be a good fit for KASC14. The personal statement should not exceed
     5000 characters (including spaces).

      6. Submit a $20 application fee through our payment site. Please also email a copy of
      your payment receipt to kasc@iscdc.org.

      Refer a friend to get your $20 application fee reimbursed:

               i. You will still go through our payment site and pay your $20 application fee.
               ii. In an email to kasc@iscdc.org please write the name of the person
               you have referred instead of "donations."
               iii. You will be reimbursed $20 once your referral completes an application.
               iv. The reimbursement will be sent to you via PayPal or check by ISC in August
               2021.

               You may also attend an Information Session to receive 50% discount on your $20
               application fee. Check our social media on Instagram @kasc_usofficial for dates and
              registration details.

      7. After submission of your written application, the Executive Committee will notify
      you if you have been selected for a 15 minute video interview.
At that time, you will
      be given a schedule to submit your time preferences.

      NOTE: All interviews will be conducted in English.

Deadlines:
Korean Delegate Application: Friday, May 21, 2021 11:59 pm KST

Virtual Conference Dates: July 11th, 2021 - July 31st, 2021
In-Person Conference Dates: December 27th, 2021 - January 8th, 2022
Participation Fee:$3,500

The real cost of each delegate is $6,000+ but ISC subsidizes the cost so that the delegate participation fee is $3,500.
