Busan, located on the southern eastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, is the second largest city and largest port city in Korea. Busan is the central city of the southeastern coastal industrial zone and forms an enormous economy equivalent to that of Seoul. The port city is also home to South Korea’s largest beach, “Haeundae” and longest river “Nakdong River”. Busan is also known for its large festivals including the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and the Busan International Fireworks Festival.
Throughout 9th KASC, the delegation will visit various organizations related to the Roundtable Topics, including the United Nations Memorial Cemetery, the National Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Korea as well as discover the unique culture of a diverse multi-ethnic community. Busan also abounds with delicious foods, thus culinary exploration is one of many fun activities we will be doing in Busan!
