“As students, we stand in a unique position that permits us to cooperatively observe and participate in contemporary politics and diplomacy. Our student status also facilitates education, about ourselves and also about others. As the leaders of the future, we must begin an active, personal commitment to these goals now.”
Following the JASC model, KASC is also student-run, which fosters dynamic discussion focused on pressing current issues. The tradition of student leadership has endured more than 70 years and is maintained through groups called Executive Committees (EC).
Each year, the EC is comprised of 10 students elected by fellow delegates at the end of each conference; 5 representing the American delegation (AEC) and 5 representing the Korean delegation (KEC). The ECs work together to plan and manage the conference for the following year. Here is a list of the 2010 Executive Committee members.
In addition, each Conference also has its own National Advisory Committee (NAC) comprised of professors and other dignitaries who assist with recruiting, academic suggestions and general advice.
